CMI establishes its green product policy based on the spirit: GHG emission minimization; environmental hazardous substance control; and resource use optimization. Additionally, CMI integrates low carbon, toxin free, energy conservation and material flow minimization with optimized ecological design, quality management system and hazardous substance management system to optimize green product management and thereby ensure that customer requirements and environmental legislations are met in terms of product design, production and service management. CMI further sets related international regulations and customer requirements as its environmental targets.

 

Ban on Conflict Minerals

The term “conflict minerals” refers to the rare metals, notably cassiterite, wolframite, coltan and gold, that are mined in conditions of severe human rights abuses and environmental problem in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As these metals are sometimes used in IT and communication products, CMI has banned “conflict minerals” in the Restricted Substances Management Standard (II3QM-0044) from suppliers and customers, in order to carry out its corporate social responsibility with due faith.
